Frequently Asked Questions
What should my gymnast wear to class?
Gymnasts should wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows them to move freely and allows coaches to spot safely.
A leotard is suggested, but not required. Gymnasts may wear leggings, shorts, or a shirt over a leotard. If a gymnast is not wearing a leotard, they should wear a T-shirt that can be tucked in during class for safety.
Please avoid clothing with hoods, zippers, buttons, laces, or drawstrings. Sports bras or crop tops should not be worn alone as a top.
Hair that is long enough to be pulled back must be secured in a ponytail, braid, or bun.
Jewelry should not be worn, with the exception of stud earrings. Permanent jewelry may be worn if it fits snugly. Loose-fitting permanent jewelry should be covered with athletic tape.
What should my gymnast bring to class?
Please bring a water bottle to class.
Gymnasts do not need to bring any special equipment unless otherwise instructed by their coach.
Where is Inland Northwest Gymnastics located?
Inland Northwest Gymnastics is located on Superior Street, two blocks east of Hamilton, north of No-Li Brewhouse, just south of the Centennial Trail, and west of the Spokane River.
When you arrive, look for our sandwich board signs in the parking lot, which will help direct you to the gym entrance.
We have a small on-site parking lot, and there is also plenty of free street parking nearby.
How old does my child need to be to start gymnastics?
Children can begin gymnastics as soon as they are walking in our Bounce & Bond parent-and-child class, which is designed for children up to age 3½.
From there, we offer Tiny Tumblers Preschool for ages 3½–5, Beginner Gymnastics for ages 5–7 and 8+, and recreational Levels 1–5 for ages 6 and up. We also offer Homeschool Gymnastics for ages 6+, High School Gymnastics for students in grades 9–12, and Adult Gymnastics for ages 18+.
Some classes require an evaluation before enrollment, while others are open to beginners. Please visit our Classes page for more information about each program.
Does parking or access change during Gonzaga home games?
Because we are located near the McCarthey Athletic Center, traffic and parking can be busier on nights when Gonzaga basketball games are taking place.
This is most noticeable for classes scheduled at 5:00 PM or later. Hamilton Street and the surrounding area may experience heavier traffic, and street parking near the gym can fill as spectators arrive for games.
We recommend allowing extra travel and parking time on Gonzaga game nights.
You can check upcoming game dates on the Gonzaga Basketball schedule.
How do makeup tokens work?
Make-Up Token Policy
We know that life happens and gymnasts may occasionally need to miss class due to illness, family commitments, travel, or other circumstances. We want families to get as much value as possible from their enrollment, which is why we offer up to two make-up tokens per month for missed classes.
Make-up tokens may be used to attend another class of the same type and level as the class in which the gymnast is currently enrolled. All make-up classes must be scheduled before attending so we can confirm that space is available. Make-ups can be scheduled through the Parent Portal, by email, or by phone.
Standard make-up tokens expire 30 days after they are issued. If Inland Northwest Gymnastics must close or cancel a class, the make-up token issued for that cancellation will be valid for 90 days.
Make-up tokens are intended to provide flexibility while a gymnast is actively enrolled in classes. Because tuition reserves your gymnast’s ongoing spot in their regularly scheduled class, make-up tokens cannot be used in place of tuition or applied as a tuition credit. Tokens must be used while the gymnast is actively enrolled and cannot be extended or used after a gymnast withdraws from classes.
Our goal is to give families flexibility when missed classes happen while still maintaining consistent enrollment and class availability for everyone.
How does tuition and billing work?
Inland Northwest Gymnastics operates on a month-to-month basis rather than in session periods. Once enrolled, your child will remain enrolled from month to month unless you submit a withdrawal request. You do not need to re-enroll each month.
When is tuition billed?
Monthly statements are typically issued by the 28th of each month for the upcoming month.
Payment is due by the 10th of the month.
How does Auto-Pay work?
Families enrolled in recurring billing will have their payment method automatically charged on the 1st of each month.
At this time, our system does not allow families to select a different recurring payment date.
If there is a green checkmark next to your payment method in the Parent Portal, you are enrolled in Auto-Pay.
What if I am not enrolled in Auto-Pay?
Families who are not enrolled in recurring billing must log into the Parent Portal and manually submit payment by the 10th of the month.
If you need to pay by cash or check, please contact us so we can assist you.
Are there late or returned-payment fees?
Yes.
- Late Fee: $10 for payments made after the 10th
- Returned eCheck Fee: $5
How does prorated tuition work?
Your first month of tuition is prorated based on your start date and the number of scheduled classes remaining in that month.
After your first month, tuition is not prorated based on attendance or the number of classes your gymnast uses during the month. Your monthly tuition reserves your gymnast’s place in the class.
If your gymnast misses class, we offer up to two make-up tokens per month. Please see our Make-Up Token Policy for additional information about eligibility, use, and expiration.
How does tuition work during holidays or scheduled closures?
Monthly tuition is based on a four-week month.
If a scheduled gym closure results in your class meeting fewer than four times during a month, tuition will be automatically prorated.
If your class still meets four times during the month, tuition is not prorated.
Families are also not charged additional tuition during months when a class meets five times.
Tuition is not prorated for individual absences or based on the number of classes a gymnast attends during the month.
How do I withdraw from a class?
Withdrawal requests must be submitted by the 25th of the month to avoid being charged tuition for the following month.
Withdrawal requests may be submitted:
- Through your Parent Portal
- By emailing info@inlandnorthwestgymnastics.com
- By calling (509) 601-2770
If a withdrawal request is not received by the 25th, enrollment and billing will continue for the following month.
Is monthly tuition refundable?
Monthly tuition is non-refundable once processed.
Your child’s enrollment reserves a space in the class for the month and may prevent another gymnast on a waitlist from enrolling. For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds for processed monthly tuition.
To avoid being charged for the following month, please submit your withdrawal request by the 25th.
Have questions about your account?
If you have questions about tuition, billing, Auto-Pay, prorating, withdrawals, or your Parent Portal, please contact us at info@inlandnorthwestgymnastics.com or (509) 601-2770. We’re happy to help.
What is your cancellation and withdrawal policy?
Your gymnast’s enrollment reserves their space in class and may prevent another gymnast on a waitlist from enrolling. Because of this, monthly tuition is non-refundable once it has been processed.
All withdrawal requests must be submitted by the 25th of the month, including requests for gymnasts who plan to attend only part of the following month. This gives us time to update enrollment and adjust tuition before monthly billing is processed.
If your gymnast will attend only part of their final month, we will prorate tuition based on the withdrawal date, as long as the withdrawal request was submitted by the 25th. For example, if your gymnast will attend the first two classes of the month and then withdraw, you will only be charged for those two classes.
Once monthly tuition has been processed, refunds or prorated adjustments will not be issued. To ensure your final month is billed correctly, please submit all withdrawal requests by the 25th.
